Rob Hoekstra appointed GB showjumping chief
British showjumping has appointed Rob Hoekstra as its new world class performance manager.
The world class programme includes the Olympic sports of dressage, eventing and showjumping and Hoekstra will lead Britain's build-up to London 2012.
Hoekstra said: "I am looking forward to what will certainly be a challenge but also presents a huge opportunity.
"My first task is to meet with all the riders and ensure they are focused on developing plans through to 2012."
Former British international rider Hoekstra replaces Derek Ricketts after a poor year for British Equestrianism.
Britain finished eighth in the Nations Cup and sixth at the European Championships in Windsor.
They were subsequently relegated to the second-tier promotional league by the sport's governing body, the Federation Equestre International.
The British Equestrian Federation had an appeal against the decision rejected by the FEI.
But the BEF is now awaiting the results of a further appeal placed with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
