Rob Hoekstra is a man with a vision and it involves Championship medals. Rob's passion and quiet determination comes across loud and clear as he sets out his goals to put British show jumping firmly back in the limelight, where it belongs.
Rob has focused his efforts on training for many years, working with riders up to Olympic level. This includes training Norwegian rider Morten Aasen for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and Spanish rider Alfredo Fernandez-Duran for the 2009 European Championships in Windsor. He has been the Performance Manager and Head Coach for the British Showjumping Team. Since Rob started in 2010 the sport has gone through the most succeful period in British Showjumping history. In 2011 they won Bronze medals in the Team and Individual European Championship in Madrid. They are the reining Olympic and European Team Gold winning Champions holding the two titles for the first time in their long history. The also won Individual Silver and Bronze at the European Championship in Herning in 2013.He has also trained numerous up and coming International riders that have come through the World-Class Development programme.
Rob still produces horses and his most recent Grand Prix ride Rancorrado was sold to Ireland’s Cian O’Connor.
